THE POWER OF GOD

The power of God is displayed in all his creations.  As human beings we need to know and understand God who created us.

The way we examine ourselves is the same way we need to examine our Creator.  How do we do it?  Through the Bible, for it represents God’s thoughts in fullness.  When we listen to Jesus and examine his actions we get to understand God Almighty, for he portrayed himself in Jesus – in thoughts and actions.

As we get to examine our God Almighty, many of us are overwhelmed by his power.  The scripture says, God formed us in our mother’s womb. (Psalm 139:13)  It is amazing that we all started as a seed – invisible to a human eye.  While God started many of his creations as a seed, he had something else on mind, (his plan for mankind) Jesus, who represents his word.

God has helped us to know that in this world you get the good seeds as well as the weeds.  He has given mankind one teacher, who is our saviour Jesus – the good seed.  Therefore, everyone else has to learn from Jesus – whatever Jesus says, God approves.

Those of us who love God and Jesus, we have a responsibility to plant the good seeds into people’s minds.  A person changes for the better through good information.  So, when we get knowledge from the Bible, and act upon it we enter the kingdom of God.

This is how it works; God has allowed us to have access to him; He has done it through Jesus Christ and the Bible.  Jesus said, I am the light of the world, whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but he will have the light of life. John 8:12

Let me ask you a question; have you ever found yourself in the darkness and you had to use light or a torch? Of course, you have! I have done it on so many occasions. In some parts of the world sometimes the electricity is either unreliable or non-existent. So, you find yourself that you have to use a torch or a candle to navigate your way around.

So, when Jesus says he is the light – he is peace in our hearts, his words are our righteousness, he is the only saviour, etc..  And if we live our lives according to his guidance; we are in the light.

There is something else God wants us to know – resurrection. The scripture says, he is going to resurrect every one. John 5:28-29. Humanly speaking, this is something too big for our minds to imagineBut to get an idea you have to go back in the Bible, for Jesus explained it profoundly. Luke 20: 27-36. The most encouraging news you’ll ever get on planet earth is salvation. That’s why readers, I keep on saying Christianity is a life of happiness. Nothing in this world is as encouraging as Jesus’ words. When you are on Jesus’ side, God Almighty moulds to be the best you can be, and he makes you the happiest you can be – it doesn’t matter what situation you’re in.

Surprisingly, when you explain this message to people, many want to be on God’s side. We all want good things, don’t we?  That’s why God wants every believer to convey the message to a non-believer – which is an act of love.  Every time you bless someone with a message of Christ, Father God blesses you too.  I have seen people’s lives transform tremendously because of Jesus.

It is good to know God; we know that he created the heavens and the earth.  He has also allowed us to examine other planets, the environment, how we were created, etc. but he has set boundaries.

There is also something else Father God wants us to know; he is going to renew things.  Rev. 21:1-8. There will be a new earth and a new heaven for God’s people. Please reader, compare everything I say here with Bible, for I do it too.  Every time I hear a message from another preacher, I compare it with a Bible.

WHAT IS FORGIVENESS?

This is a crucial question which comes from the heart of God Almighty and connects to our inner being. As we examine his character in the Bible, we get to understand that forgiveness pleases God.

I have been a true Christian for a long time, but it has taken me a long time to understand it fully.  By God’s grace I’m going to explain it here so that the reader can understand it as well.

As you know, we all have hurt someone or vice-versa. Did you notice that people who hurt us more are the closest? Relationships break down because of sin, but forgiveness heals broken hearts.  And sometimes it takes a long time to forgive someone, but when we deal with it quickly the better.  Some people think words hurt more than actions, but I differ from this argument.  I believe both hurt more or less the same; I speak from my personal experiences.

Back to the question; what does forgiveness mean?

It means:

  • not to hold a grudge against the person
  • to erase the issue against the person who has sinned against you
  • to say that you have forgiven them
  • to pray for the person, or wish them well
  • to ask God to forgive them for the wrong they’ve done to you (when Jesus was crucified he said Father forgive them)

This is the issue, it feels good to be forgiven; as you have experienced forgiveness brings peace and joy. So, Father God wants us to understand, if we feel good when we are forgiven by others, imagine the forgiveness of God.  Jesus said, for if you forgive men (people) when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men for their sins, you Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew. 6:14

So, we learn that to gain salvation we have to do what Jesus says. We also learn from the Bible, that God can only forgive sins through Jesus. For, there is no other way we can be saved apart from blood of Jesus Christ, which cleanses our sins. (Hebrews 9)

NO PROBLEM

A person who says no to the problem is much stronger than the one who says yes to the problem.  I’m sure you’re now thinking, of course we all know that!  But I’ll explain later;

Firstly, Father God who created and gave us life solves every problem the way he wants.  He revealed his thoughts in the bible for us to learn and understand things, thus he has revealed things we need to know.

There is no other book like the bible –  it is the most important book in the world; the biggest selling book of all time, more than two billion books have been sold.  It holds all the secrets and unlocks  solutions to all our problems.  It is the key to happiness and holds the words of encouragement you’ll never find in any other book.

I’m going to take you back to Jesus; Matt.14:22-34, he’s walking on water, the disciples are afraid, and he is saying to Peter, come to me. Peter does as he’s told, but he sees the wind, becomes afraid, and begins to sink.  Immediately Jesus  demonstrates  the power of God, he holds Peter’s hand, and all is well.

But before that, Peter is operating in his human nature, which is tainted by weaknesses. First of all, he is afraid, then he doubts when he says, if it is really you… then gets distracted and focusses on the problem, finally, he acknowledges that if he doesn’t hold Jesus’ hand, he’ll drown.

Here we learn Peter sees the problem, felt it, but says no to the problem;  the problem gets solved by God, when he holds Jesus’ hand.

Jesus said, ‘problems will come,’ because we live in a world full of problems, for Satan is busy creating chaos.  But he indicates when we use our faith, God will have mercy on us.  Satan’s world is harder, insecure, sadder, chaotic etc. whereby God’s kingdom is the opposite.

People are busy creating problems for themselves. I’ve done it too in the past, when I was on Satan’s side. People are following what others are doing; they say in their minds, let’s follow what others are doing whether good or bad. That’s how gangs are created, family networks are broken down, and lives are destroyed.

Now back to the first statement, when we say no to the problem, we become energised and stronger.  Some problems are easily fixed. You get a pain somewhere, you take some pain killers. Problem solved.  Father God is so kind; he has helped us with a medicine revolution.  Many of them, as you are aware, come from plants and minerals.

But when it comes to marriage problems, the devil becomes the manipulator as well as the destroyer. Think about it; why would someone destroy a marriage – an institution of love, for the sake of money?  A person who says I’m not going to destroy my marriage despite the  problems, keeps it.

And there is another scenario; there are those who moan about money when they have savings in their accounts. Could you imagine there are those who have millions and still moan about it, and wish they had a bigger yacht with all its bling.

Paul said it plainly, ‘he has learnt to be content with even the little‘ this is crucial if we want to live a happy life.  When Jesus our chief advisor said, come to me, all you who are burdened, weary, restless, anxious and I’ll give you rest, he knew those weaknesses will affect us all. So, he gives us tips  on how to handle difficulties.

The scripture says, humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he’ll lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares…1 peter. 5:6-7.

Anxiety and fear are some of Satan’s schemes to cause imbalance in a person.  A faithful believer in Christ is stronger, and is more likely to say no to a problem, no to anxiety, no to fear, no to Satan etc. Father God wants us to understand, that many of our problems are brought about by Satan. Job 1. That’s why Jesus said, pray – deliver us from Satan’s schemes. Finally, as a believer in Christ you have to say to yourself, ‘I’m not going to let Satan stop me from acquiring the biggest prize of all – salvation’.

LOOK AT ALL ANGLES

I found an interesting topic in the Bible, which is vital in our development. Almighty God says to Abraham, ‘look north, south, left and right. Genesis 13: 14

Abraham set an example for people of faith. He was the first one to take obedience to God at a high level. He understood that obedience to God is crucial for him to obtain the blessings.  When Father God said, ‘I’ll bless you’, (Genesis 12:12) the same applies to people of faith.

His faith was so strong, that he believed every word God said and trusted him fully as his provider. So, Father God was pleased with him.

Now when God told Abraham to look: it has another meaning which Jesus has opened my mind, so that I can explain it here. As you’re aware, we are designed in these four dimensions. The head – north, feet – south, then two arms pointing in different directions.

In life, as you know, we have to deal with the negative side, the positive side, the past and the future.

He says, look north – this means, believe in God, the future, the promised land (salvation in Jesus), the dreams, and hope.

Look south – this means we have to know what happened in the past. We learn what happened in the past from the old testament of bible; how the world was created, the events that happened, Noah, Moses, David and so forth. And then the new Testament, which is about Jesus. God wants us to use our memory – and to remember how he has helped us over the years. He urged the Israelites to remember how he helped and rescued them from  the Pharaoh of Egypt. God wants us to learn from the past experiences – the good and the bad. We learn how bad choices or experiences weakened us. We have to learn from the negative consequences to get us into the right direction.

Look left – this represents all the mistakes we have made, false information, negativity, and weaknesses. God wants us to see the mistakes in our lives, to see mistakes in churches, and to be aware of false religions.

Look right – this means, the right religion (christianity), the blessings, the positive attitudes, the encouragement, the right decisions, the truth, and peace. When Jesus went back in heaven, he sat at the right hand of the Father. The scripture says, ‘fix your eyes on Jesus’. Heb. 12:2

So, when he said to Abraham, I’ll bless you in every angle, the same applies to every child of God. He blesses us in every angle of life. When we have faith in Jesus and God, we are secure in our salvation, and gain hope for better things to come.

And on the right – he blesses us with happiness, and empowerment as we walk in righteousness. The bible says, keep on doing the right thing.

On the left – when we go through problems he delivers us, he comforts us, he gives us strength and peace.

In the north, through faith in Jesus he blesses us with the holy spirit, encouragement, forgiveness and eternal life.

In the south, he blesses us with healing from the past experiences. We have all gone through bad or painful expereinces which need healing, and have done wrong things. So He forgives our past sins.

GOD EXAMINES

We learn from the Bible that we are made in God’s image, which means we inherited many of his characteristics. That’s why we are special creatures above others.

Today I’m going to focus on something God put in us, which is also part of him – examining. We are all good at this, especially when we are serious.  We start by examining our lives in detail. We examine our surroundings, we examine our families, our friends and our pets. We don’t stop there, we go even further to examine our cities, our towns, our countries, and other countries.

And let me tell you, because we are highly intelligent we have become experts. The news has become a global enterprise, so busy sending out information, the good and the bad, to every corner of the world. Everyone of them is got one thing in common, they feel it is an obligation.

Let’s go back to God; we learn from the Bible that he examines every individual in detail, nothing is hidden before him.  He examines city by city, country by country. I was taken by surprise when I read Ezekiel 27 today, which shows how observant God Almighty is. Here, he examines a city called Tyre and its activities.

Ezekiel 27:1-24 (NIV). He says, ‘you say, O Tyre, I’m perfect in beauty. Your domain was on the high seas. Your builders brought your beauty to perfection. When he says this, he is referring to countries that are praising themselves, for every country  has something to praise about itself.

And HE goes on to say in Vs 12, Tarnish did business with you because of your great wither of goods. They exchanged silver, iron, tin and lead for your merchandise. Vs 13 Greece, tubal, Meshech traded with you. They exchanged slaves and articles of bronze for your wares. Men of berth Torgarmah exchanged work horses, war horses, and mules for your merchandise. The men of Rhodes traded with you and many coastlands were your customers; they paid you with ivory tusks and ebony. Judah and Israel traded with you. They exchanged wheat from Minnith and confections, honey, oil and balm for your wares. He also mentions the wine, gold, precious stones, beautiful garments, embroidery, rugs, wool, lambs, rams, goats and all kinds of spices. We also learn from here that God is looking at how the world trade operates.

How does God see countries now? He examines the positives and the negatives of the country and its cities. He examines the people’s attitudes and actions. We learn as well that he deals with each country accordingly.  Some countries are more at peace than others because of what they do. Every country is got problems, every country is unstable.  Some are more unstable than others because of what they do.

Two cities are mentioned in the Bible more than others. Jerusalem and Babylon. They both represent two sides of the world. Jerusalem is connected to Jesus and God, while Babylon is just the opposite. The world, as we know it, is operating on the Babylonian system. The Babylonian system is not focused on God – it is more focussed on false worship, politics, traditions, superstitions, social activities, witchcraft, cultures, education and money. This system is very stressful, undermining, unfair,  cunning, and temporary. The Kingdom of God on the other hand is the opposite; it is empowering, loving, peaceful, encouraging, and everlasting.

God’s system where Jesus is the leader, is higher than the worldly system; once you get into it, you’re the lucky one.

TRUST HIM

Jesus said, trust in God, trust also in me. I’m the way the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you would know my Father as well. (John 14. NIV) John 18:37, he says, ‘everyone on the side of the truth listens to me’.

He says this to help us understand the relationship he has with the God the Father, which is 100% unity.  He goes on to say, the words I say to you are not my own.  Rather, it is the Father in me who is doing his work, or at least believe in the evidence of the miracles.

He goes on to say, if you love me, you’ll obey my teachings.  And I’ll ask the Father, and he’ll give you another Counsellor to be with you forever – the spirit of truth (the Holy Spirit)

I know I’ve mentioned some of the scriptures here in the earlier posts, but that doesn’t matter.  The thing about the Bible, it is something you have to read again and again for the rest of your life, if you believe in God.  It is a book of life and salvation.

Now we need to examine what Jesus says, the world cannot accept him, it neither sees him or knows him (the Holy Spirit). Who are the world? The people outside God’s Kingdom.

I spoke to a Muslim once, and he said, they don’t accept the Holy Spirit. I told to him what Paul said about the unforgivable sin, which is rejecting the Holy Spirit.  When someone rejects the Holy Spirit, they are rejecting God, his counselling, the truth, the Bible and Jesus.

Now let’s go back to what Jesus said, whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me, will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him.

Now he is teaching us if you really want to be saved, you have to be serious about obedience.  I remember years ago, when I was in my early twenties. I thought I was a Christian. Once I was watching the news on TV, and  it showed a clip about Muslims beating up their chests.  And I thought I’ve never seen that before, people having so much passion for God.  So, I thought, maybe I should become a Muslim.  Why did I think that? Because, I felt I had little faith, and I thought I needed to have passion for God. But it is God who stopped me from becoming a Muslim.  How did he do it? He took the thought out of my mind.

A few years later when I started searching for him, he introduced born again Christians in my life.  And when I got into the bible and got to know Jesus, I realised that passion alone is not enough. Doing good things alone is not enough before God. Paul was an example, he was a Jew, followed the rules, and had passion for God, but he persecuted Christians.  When he became born again in Christ, he realised that salvation in Jesus is vitally important – the forgiveness of sins.  Back to me, If I had become a Muslim, God wouldn’t have used me for this.

Yahweh God Almighty wants us to understand, it is not about sacrifices he is after.  He has done that already, when he sacrificed his own son for our sins.  Before that, in the old covenant with the Israelites, animals were sacrificed for sins. He is after our love, and when you love God with all your heart, mind, strength and soul, you have to love Jesus the same way.  And he wants everyone to know, that he has established one plan only from the bottom of his heart – that plan is through Jesus, his one and only begotten Son as a sacrifice for our sins. That’s why it is important to listen to what Jesus says.  He says, he is the only truth, he came to save mankind, and that God has given him authority in heaven and the earth to judge mankind. (Matt. 28:16-20) In the end, it’s up to you. You either choose the right way or the wrong way.

Jesus goes on to say, the Father (God Almighty, the creator of the universe) will love those who obey my teachings. So, what do we learn here, he is now excluding other religions, because they’re not teaching salvation though him. What else? He is also excluding those who say they’re Christians but are not obedient to the teachings of the Bible.  He goes on to say, he who does not love me will not obey my teaching. And then he says, the counsellor the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you.

This is what Paul said which helps us to understand, ‘I’m astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by grace of Christ, and are turning to a different gospel – which is no gospel at all. Eventually some are throwing you into confusion and trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the gospel of Christ, let him be eternally condemned’. Galatians 6:6-10. You have to remember Paul travelled all over the place to preach the gospel. He went to Asia, Syria, Judea, Jerusalem, Rome, Cyprus, Athens and so many others.

The bible says, Jesus is in heaven and is seated at the right hand of God. (Acts 1:1-10).  So, that shows, everyone else is awaiting judgement, even the prophets, Abraham, Moses and others. (John 5:28).  And he wants us to understand that just because someone claimed to be a Prophet or a preacher, it doesn’t mean they’ll make it.  It all depends on the message you believed, what you did, and what you said.  If the message you believed and acted on is inline with his teachings, then you have a chance.

Someone said, I can see what you’re doing. You’re trying to help people, which is good. I said, ‘it is God who is doing it, using people like me to speak to those on the other side’.

THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS

God knows a human being will always pursue happiness in one way or another.  He created the idea of happiness, for example, we enjoy food, nice weather, and relationships. We don’t know much but God knows everything.

However, many of us pursue happiness in our ambitions, and sometimes, we are deceived by feelings.  The scripture says, the heart is deceitful beyond cure. Jeremiah 17:9-10.  That’s when a person is ruled by feelings, rather than godly wisdom.

Here is the issue, whatever a person pursues rather than God, will always end up in a disappointment along the way.  I’ll explain: disappointments are inevitable because of the influence of Satan. And whatever we pursue in the worldly system carries the negatives and the positives.  Take for example, money and material things which we all go after to meet our needs, but as you know, the negatives are clear to see.  Financial stress is on the top list. As you  know, money talks… (catch me if you can, but if you focus your mind too much on me I will give you stress, aha!!) and it doesn’t discriminate.

God watches – we want this, we want that. The scripture which touched me to revaluate my life, James 4:1-3, which I mentioned before: it says, what causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your inner desires that battle within you? You want something but don’t get it. You do not have, because you do not ask God. When you ask you do not receive because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.  This scripture also relates to wisdom, James 1;5, if you lack wisdom ask God.

In life you come to a point where you have something as your number one focus.  As you’re aware, some people choose jobs to be their main focus.  Some people it is a marriage, or a family.  Some it is just education, and for others it is the culture, false beliefs, drugs, alcohol or sport.  But a person who has Jesus as their main focus will never get disappointed.  When you have Jesus as your saviour, it pleases God, nothing pleases him more than that.

Jesus brings real happiness into our lives, especially if we listen to him and take his advice about life.  And when it comes to Christmas, God has allowed it to happen as a sign to mankind, therefore followers of Christ should celebrate and be happy because of the Salvation which is yet to come.

The Bible helps us to examine ourselves before God.  Are you on the right track or the wrong one?  I compare my life now to what it was before in the darkness.  It was miserable.  But now that I’m in the light, God has blessed me with much more happiness.  And I know that sharing this message is exactly what God wants me to do – to help somebody else.  God has a way of putting happiness in your heart, when you focus on him, and worship him in truth – through Jesus, for his doesn’t accept any other way.

So when we pursue Jesus, we pursue real happiness.  Christmas which connect us to Jesus, should be celebrated  happily – singing and dancing all day long. Because, he came to save us, so that we can be forgiven. I don’t know about you, but it is the biggest present ever – making us happier than a wedding day.

DO YOU CARE ABOUT YOURSELF?

This is a question Jesus would ask any of us? How do I know? Because the Holy Spirit is helping me with the questions, which relate to our inner being. As I mentioned previously, God wants us to examine ourselves.

So, when it comes to this question, one would say; yes, because I look after myself.

And then he would ask; how?

Well, I wash my hair and make sure that I have a nice haircut. To be honest, sometimes I’m not even bothered about my hair, so I let it go wild.

Hmm… Father in heaven examines the mind and the heart of a person, but man looks at outside appearance.

I also make sure I bathe regularly, because I know keeping a good hygiene is important. And I  try to eat healthy, making sure that I have a good balanced diet.

Okay…keep going…

Well, I try to make good decisions to keep me on the right track.

What decisions?

Well, I decided to get married, which is good for me.

That’s good, what else?

I try to be a responsible person, that’s why I work hard sometimes, to pay the bills, and look after my family.

It is good to know you take responsibility to heart.

I also try to make good friends to make me happy.

The thing is, as you know, most of us want to have the good things in life. However, here is the issue, if a person really cares about themselves they wouldn’t want to face the wrath of God. People who listen to God through the Bible and want to be saved through Jesus really care about themselves. Anyone who cares would want to be forgiven for their sins. And they would avoid doing bad things because of the negative consequences. The scripture says, you reap what you sow.

THE PIT FALLS

There are two dimensions God wants us to be aware of. First of all, his existence as the creator of life and the world.  And the second one is Satan.  Satan is not acting alone, he uses his demons. (Revelation 12:7) When the devil was thrown out heaven, he got really angry.  He decided to go after the most precious thing  of all God’s creation on earth, and close to his own heart –  a Human Being.

When you get to know the character of God which is based on love, justice, forgiveness and judgement, you also have to know the character of Satan, for he is just the opposite.  God Almighty is got your best interest at heart , the devil is against you.

The biggest enemy you’ll ever encounter as a human being is not another human or another creature, but Satan. The devil hates humans, and he’ll do anything to harm.  Jesus said, he is the father of lies.  Every lie and evil thought in our minds is planted by Satan. The Bible says, The Devil has been sinning from the beginning. Jesus came to destroy the devil’s work and save mankind from his control. I John 3:7-10

It is true, that it is so easy to be controlled by Satan.  We all go through that.  Some of the tactics he uses are manipulation and disguise.  We learn, that he is a master of disguise, to make someone believe they’re doing the right thing, when actually they’re in the wrong.  All the pitfalls we fall into are planted by Satan, for example, false beliefs, lack of faith, drug issues, selfishness, hatred, etc.  But to sum it all, every kind of sin. In addition to this, as I mentioned in the earlier post, Satan also targets the core of our being, for example, our desires and weaknesses.  He wants people to stay on his side, and he also goes after those on God’s side. He also makes us focus on our disappointments, failures, problems, so that we lose our joy. The Almighty God, on the other hand, wants us to enjoy life by  avoiding Satan’s pit falls, and  focus on doing the right thing.

When we fall into his pit, it is difficult to get out of, unless a person turns to God, through Jesus.  Jesus is the only one who can rescue mankind from Satan’ s control. The bible says, if you’re in Jesus the devil cannot harm you.  What does this mean? The Holy Spirit says, when we live our lives according to the Bible, we get into God’s protection.  I can talk from my own experience, when I turned to God my life changed for the better, and I thank God for the transformation.

EMPTINESS

What makes a person who seems to have it all, but would feel like they’re empty at times?  We see it all the time in film stars, pop idols, and in our homes.  Some call it middle life crisis.  Normally, it is a feeling of emptiness.  God who created us knows us inside out. The feeling of emptiness starts at an early stage, as children.  When children feel it, they try to fill it with game activities.  So, they play and laugh a lot.

When we get older we examine ourselves even more.  Thus, we try to fill our lives with more activities. We realise that we need a marriage, children, a job, and money, of course.  Once we acquire a piece of this and that, for some reason we still feel unsatisfied.  We thought the marriage which started with lots of love, for some reason, it becomes a struggle.  That’s why every married person comes to a point and says, marriage is difficult. Why?  Because dealing with an imperfect person is not easy.  And when it comes to raising our children, because of their imperfections, obviously a parent would struggle sometimes.

And when it comes to our jobs, we end up dealing with imperfect people, and that’s becomes a struggle, too.  And when it comes to money and so many other things, as King Solomon said, it is like chasing after the wind. Ecclesiastes 1:17.  It comes and goes. So, when it comes to those who have lots of it, they get sucked into it and it becomes a trap.   Once it becomes a trap, the more they become addicted to it.  And with addiction there comes all kinds of stress to the rich, as well as the poor.  Solomon was the richest man in the world, he went after he wanted, at some point he called it madness.  This is someone who knew God, and his wisdom, and then he messed up big time.  After a while he examined his life, the negatives and the positives, sometimes he lost it,  and he then realised that nothing surpasses God’s wisdom and plan.

It is funny how sometimes we lose interest in things quickly.  I remember going to a friend’s party.  She decided to have it in one of those posh hotels.  Well, one of those expensive ones in London.  So, out of her good heart she invited a group of Christians. It was good, because we wanted to have fun, as well as, loving the Lord.  When I got in that hotel I was overwhelmed by its interior beauty – golden taps, marble floors, and beautiful carpets.  I thought this was a place to be.  We danced and had a good time.  After the party I kept on thinking about the hotel. The more I thought about it, the more I talked about it to my friends.  When I decided to go back again, I took a friend with me, but for some reason, I didn’t have that wow feeling  I had before.  Why? I got used to it, which is so much in our human nature.

God Almighty made the heart to be the centre of our being. The physical one, as you know, controls our whole body. But the spiritual one is also crucial, and this is where we feel the emptiness.

Jesus said, ‘in me you’ll have life. I am the bread of life’. John 6:33-40. You have to remember Jesus like God Almighty knew a human being in detail. God knows whatever we do or run after, nothing, I say it again, nothing will ever fulfil as Jesus does. When a person has Jesus in their hearts and obey what he says they have life to the full.  He said, ‘I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full’. John 10:10
