When you read the bible, you get to understand that God almighty tackles every angle of our lives.  For example, He asks, ‘Is it a time for you yourselves to be living in your panelled houses, while this house remains in ruin?’ (Haggai chapter 1)

So, it is an interesting question and it goes straight to the heart of a human being. God almighty has given the worshipers instructions, and one of them is to prepare a place where people can worship.

When you look around in some countries like Britain, you get the feeling, that there was a time when people took their faith seriously, that’s why church buildings are everywhere. And when you look into Britain’s history, you could see, that life was hard due to food shortages, poverty, etc. so, many would go to church on Sunday to have peace of mind.

Sadly, nowadays going to church on Sunday is seen as a rare occasion for some people, thus, some churches are dying as a result. Some people, on the other hand, go to church to experience a few minutes of peace. And if you want to read the bible, you wouldn’t find it in many Cathedrals. I asked a lady steward once, ‘How come you don’t have bibles in here?’ She shrugged her shoulders and said, ‘We used to, years ago, but we decided to get rid of them because people were stealing them.’ Hmm…that’s a bit strange…why would someone go to church and steal the Holy Bible?

God examines things in detail, and wants people to respond to his message through Jesus. So that question goes beyond church buildings, it is about repentance – for the problem comes, when a person is only focussing on their human desires, other than focussing on God’s kingdom, to seek salvation.

However, some churches have emerged from the ashes (false teachings), and are carrying the bibles with them, and are taking the scriptures seriously, for they understand the importance of obedience.  So, while some churches are dying out spiritually others are prospering.  The scripture says, ‘People perish because of lack of knowledge.’  (Hosea 4:6) Jesus teaches us that, if you want to survive you have to get into the bible and live in it.

When God spoke to the Israelites at that time, the message goes to all mankind. So, while you are busy running after this and that, time is flying as well. Then Jehovah God says, ‘Give careful thoughts to your ways.’ Now you see, he wants us to examine our lives.

When I explained to my brother, he understood; I said to him, ‘All these years you’ve been chasing after things you want.’ He said, ‘Now, I feel like I’m in the valley, because things are not working out as I expected.’ I said, ‘But there is something else you need to work on, which will uplift you, to get you out of the valley – work on your faith.’ He said, ‘Thank you for telling me; your words are so encouraging; I’ll do it.’ That put a smile on my face.

Then God said, ‘You have planted much, but harvested little; aargh, now he targets a sensitive part of us; we all get those moments; How many people work hard to get something, and the end result is little?  For example, businesses, jobs, marriages and so many other plans. So, stress here!

Then He says, ‘You eat, but never have enough.’ Some one may say, ‘When I eat, I have enough,’ but a person in another country may say, ‘Oh yes, that relates to me.’ However, this affects all of us; it means less satisfaction in some of our endeavours. Stress!

Then He says, ‘You put on clothes, but are not warm.’ When you’re in a cold country, as you know, however much we try to cover up we still feel the coldness. What does this mean? Stress again!

Then He says, ‘You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it.’ Ooh… it is the money thing. We get money, and it flies away like an eagle. It happens so much in utility bills, (we have to pay for the water God created) business losses, etc. Everybody has to lose money in one or the other. Someone may say, ‘That’s life!’ But, as you know, the rich gain a lot from the poor, as they keep on putting the prices up in computers, phones, designer labels, etc. making them big profits. So, more stress! And many are feeling it.

Then He says it again, ‘Consider your ways.’ Now He is telling us to think again, to make changes in our lives, get rid of the bad stuff, and work on our faith. Then He says, ‘You expected much, but see, it turned out little.’ Ouch, that hurts! You know how it goes with so many people, ‘I’m looking for the one, my other half to complete me.’ When they get the one, they get married; after a while, they start questioning whether that person was the one, when they start feeling the blues – the unhappiness, boredom, disappointments, etc. What’s that? Aha, you guessed it – stress! The same goes with the job, and so many other things.

Then He says, ‘You see what you brought home, I blew away.’ Ouch… that hurts! But that’s how it is! For we get what we want and then we lose it. Why?  It is because of sin, which started in Eden; sin is poisonous, dangerous, destroys people’s lives and it causes a curse called stress!  Stress, as you know, comes from all angles; it comes from our own sins, from other people sins, etc. People try to beat stress with all kind of ideas – a bit of smoking, drinking, exercise, etc.  Hmmm… does it work?

God Almighty who created us, knows us in detail and targets the issues of our hearts, which means after getting this and that, we still get to the point when we feel frustrated.

But He has given us the cure for stress – prayer and wisdom from the Bible. Every time I get stressed out, I pray and then I use the bible to sort me out. Christian life is beautiful – a blessing from God. Some people think it is hard, but it is easy, if you have faith and the right attitude. God knows a human being cannot be perfect without Jesus. So, in Jesus we have security, peace and hope.

Jesus said, ‘The kingdom of God is like a person who found treasure in the garden, went back home and sold everything he had in order to gain it.’ (Matt. 13:44) So, once you have it, you’re on the winning side. Hooray!! Happy days.

As you’ve noticed reader, I’m trying to deliver this message to you, the way God wants me to do it; by using the Bible; sometimes, I make a typing mistake, but that doesn’t matter so long as you understand the message. So, my prayer is, may God help you. Amen!

God has been helping to me to understand more about the bible. Where did the Israelites come from?

To understand this, you have to go to Gen 32. Jacob, the son of Isaac has been blessed by God. He now has two wives, eleven sons, and many domestic animals. He then decides to flee from his Uncle Laban (Genesis 31) whose attitude towards him has changed. You can see Jacob is not happy, he is scared; he then asks him, ‘What is my crime? What sin have I committed that you hunt me down?

God (Yahweh) says to him, ‘Go back to your country; a land of your father and relatives, and I’ll be with you.’

When you read the whole the story, you get to understand that before Jacob came to live with his Uncle Laban, he was running away from problems at home, for he had an issue with his brother who didn’t like him.

I think every human being can relate to this. For we all try to run from problems; in many cases, people move from one place to another. Many people run away from marriages, and they give a reason why. Some run away from their countries, (I can relate to this) and give a reason why they’re doing it.

As mentioned in the previous posts, God Almighty sees all our reasonings in everything we do. So, Jacob has given his reason why he didn’t want to go back, for his scared of his brother; he says, ‘I’m afraid he’ll attack me.’

God who has been watching him all along, wants him to deal with his brother; so, he makes sure that Jacob meets his brother Esau. God knew his brother was not going to attack him, for he wanted to reconcile and put matters behind him.

Before this happens, Jacob had to deal with his faith. He prays a lot, and then gets scared. He thinks the worst is going to happen, even though God has told him, if he goes back, he’ll bless him.

He still struggles, he talks to his servants, wives and children; once they sense his fears and distress, they get scared too. He then sends his messengers to his brother to somehow do a bit of spying on him. They came back with a message, that his brother is on his way with four hundred men to meet him (vs 6). When Jacob heard this, he is all over the place. He gets scared even more, and prays again, ‘Please God save me from my brother.’ After that, he decides to divide the people who were with him into two groups, and the animals as well; he then sends them in different directions, for he thinks, if his brother attacks one group, at least the other one will be saved. Soon afterwards, he sends his herds men, and flocks ahead of him, after instructing the leader what to say.

At night, he sets up another plan; took his possessions, including his family, the maid and servants, and sent them across the river. After sending them he is left alone. When he was on his own, and it is dark, he reflects even more about his life and faith. The more he thinks, the more worried he became.

God, on the other hand, after giving him time to think, he intervenes and acts, to get him out of his self-pity. He then sends a man (maybe an angel, I don’t know) to wrestle with him physically. I can imagine this wrestling match, which probably involved being pinned down on the ground, arms and legs twisted. (normally a wrestling match doesn’t involve punches) Anyway, this goes on for the rest of the night; Jacob gets an injury on his hip in the end. When the morning appears, the man says, ‘Let me go, it is day break.’ (day break means a new beginning, the struggle is gone, and wrestling means, the struggle of life, or problems) After that, he gives him a new name, ‘Israel’ which means an overcomer. (people of God) Gen. 32:8

This name is significant to people of God, as you know, Jesus was a Jew, from the tribe of Judah, which is part of Israel clan. Jesus overcame a huddle, and it was painful. When a person develops faith through Jesus Christ, they also become spiritual Israelites – and that means they become overcomers, so they don’t face the wrath of God. The bible mentions the natural Israelites – these are descendants of Jacob; (from the twelve sons of Jacob, a race of people was formed – God used them though out the Old Testament) However, those who are not connected to Jacob naturally are called Gentiles. But God Almighty is now only interested in those who are saved through Christ, for through Jesus, people of God are formed. Why through Jesus Christ? Because a human cannot attain purity (blameless) God requires without Jesus Christ. The scripture says, ‘Salvation is found in one one else, for there’s no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.’ Acts 4:12

The story ends happily; after the wrestling match his faith gains strength, he was more positive, his fears subsided, he had courage and his mind was at peace. On his way back he met his brother, who offered peace and wished him well. And when he went back to his country, he was blessed even more. God who created us knows every detail of our being. He allows a problem to get our attention.

The story of Jacob has a message behind it, which every Christian (children of God) will encounter to test their faith.  Wrestling with God affects all true Christians, sometimes a person may feel stressed out about a problem. But a person who perseveres through trials, when they keep their faith and righteousness in Christ will be saved.

But what about those who are not in Christ; the bible says, they will wrestle with Satan. As we all know, no one is exempt from problems (physical pain, spiritual pain – heart break, disappoints, betrayals, rejection, persecutions; financial pain, family problems, war zones, depression, bereavement, etc; but problems are designed to help us think, for God wants us to examine our lives. My experience of hardships has helped me to grow in my faith and to share the message of God. The bible says, ‘God wants everyone to be saved through Jesus,’ because he is very compassionate, loving and just. So, it is very important to know the questions of God, which started in Eden. As you know, every human being is a product of Adam and Eve. So that means every human being is subjected to questioning and to judgement.

Someone asked, what about the animals? Animals don’t know have a conscience of knowing right and wrong, but what happened in Eden affected all them too. When God gave Adam and Eve to rule over all animals, and that meant the decisions they made would affect the whole world.

There you go readers; the truth has to be told.

As humans we’re all aware of the good and evil. The battle is in our minds. We have God who wants us to be in his kingdom, then you get Satan who wants people to be on his side.

You have God who pulls you to be in Jesus, and Satan who pulls you away from Jesus. (John 6:44 -47) Jesus says, ‘No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him/her at the last day. It is written in the Prophets. They will all be taught by God. Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from him (the Holy Bible) comes to me. No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God. Only he has seen the Father. I tell you the truth, whoever believes has everlasting life.’

We know from the scriptures, that war started in heaven when the devil had a bad attitude. (Rev. 12:7-9 NIV) The scripture says, ‘There was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost the place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down – that ancient serpent called the devil or Satan, who leads the whole world astray.’

God put all these things in writing because he wants us to know. Satan knows his days are numbered, one day he will be destroyed. But in the mean time he causes as much chaos as he can. The bible states, he controls so much of the world and that means he controls much of the human population.

As a human, you have to know how he operates. I know I have said this before, but I’ll say it again. You have to be aware of his schemes. Jesus taught us how to pray and said, ‘deliver us from Satan’s schemes.’

What are Satan’s schemes? We know from the bible the devil wanted to kill baby Jesus through Herod. (Matt. 2) It wanted to destroy God’s plan of salvation to save mankind. It was powerless in achieving that; for how can the devil fight against God Almighty and win? It is impossible.

Below are some of the devil’s schemes:

  • He stops people from understanding the bible
  • He wants people to worship him, that’s why he created his own agenda (false worship) which is contrary to God’s plan of salvation through Jesus. When you look around the world, you can see how Satan has set up pillars of worship, for example, the money system of buying and selling (the beast), which the bible says has affected all mankind, and it has a number 666. (Rev. 13:16-18) But God Almighty has allowed it to happen for a reason – using money wisely to meet our needs and the needs of others.
  • He makes people undermine God’s plan of salvation through Jesus.
  • He makes people undermine Jesus
  • He makes people persecute Christians
  • He attacks everyone: in some countries you get punished for reading the bible. Why? Because Satan doesn’t want people to inherit eternal life, which can only be obtained through Jesus.
  • He puts negativity and doubts in people’s minds
  • He wants us to be out of control
  • He tempts us to do wrong
  • He discourages people from going to Christian meetings and believing the true word of God – the Bible.
  • He confuses people with different ideologies.

He is very crafty; he knows how we think, that we have a habit of focusing on what we want; for he has been allowed to study how a human being operates.  The moment you think negatively about God or Jesus, he is got you under his control. But God Almighty has given us the weapon to fight back – Jesus and the bible.  The bible says, we are all under a spiritual battle: we have to remember the devil hates humans and doesn’t care. (he is 100% bad) As you know, we inherited the good from God, and the bad from Satan. So, that’s how it is in this world. It all started in Eden.

Jesus our saviour is not like any other prophet, he is above all prophets. As mentioned in the Bible, he was there when God our Father was creating the world. He was given the power to operate as God Almighty. The scripture says, He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creations. For through him all things were created; things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible…. So that in everything he might have supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself to all things (mankind), whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood (we are reconciled to God, and forgiven through Jesus), when he was crucified on the cross. (Colossians 1:15-23) Once you understand this, you’ll understand God’s plan.

People, life is not just about eating and drinking, marriage or no marriage, children or no children, or job or no job, or having fun; we have to be serious and understand the deeper things of life. Why are we here? And where are we going from here? God Almighty has given us information about Jesus, it’s up to us to take it or leave it. You determine your destiny. As I said before, I have to say it as it is. The truth. The message in this blog summarises the bible to help the reader understand. It is God who is helping me here; so, as I write these words down, I’m also learning.

The question is, why the confusion?

There is something in Christianity that bothers me a lot. I think about it almost every day.

Recently I had met up with a good friend of mine. We are both Christians, we love the Lord, and take the Bible seriously, but we differ in some of our beliefs. When I state my point about Christianity, I normally back it up with a scripture, because that’s what Jesus wants us to do.

The issue was about baptism: she was baptised by a different church, I was baptised by another, both churches take obedience seriously.

Her point was, I should be baptized again by her church. I said, ‘it doesn’t make sense, when I was baptised, I was acknowledged by God’, for the scripture says, ‘make every effort to keep the unity of the spirit (the holy spirit unites us). there’s only one body (children of God), one spirit (holy spirit), one faith (Christianity), one baptism, one Lord (Jesus died for our sins), one hope, one Salvation, and one God (the creator of world and all living creatures) the Father of who is overall and through all and in all. (the children of God) (Ephesians 4:1-5)

So, the problem many people have is the misunderstanding of scriptures, but the word of God is not difficult to understand; it is very clear. When Jesus spoke in parables, he made sure that he explains in order for us to understand. It is not rocket science people, or climbing mountain Everest, it is easy. God made it easy for us through Jesus.

When a Christian teaches another Christian to be baptised again, it is contrary to what the bible teaches. First of all, when a person makes a decision, it is done through faith in Jesus. I know I’ve mentioned this before, millions baptise their babies. Is it in the Bible? No! A baby is not aware, has not sinned, and does not need to repent.

So, the scripture says, those of us who were baptised in Christ (fully immersed in water), we were united in him, and that means we live a new life, we’re no longer slaves to sin…we have been freed from sin…and then it says, ‘do not offer parts of your body to sin, but rather offer yourselves to God, and live in righteousness. Romans 6:4-14

God has given us information to follow, which leads to salvation.

So, the confusion comes, when people don’t examine the bible, and somehow rely on another source of information which doesn’t even connect to the scriptures (false interpretation).

Baptism is an important decision based on faith in Christ and God Almighty. Another scripture says, you’re all sons of God through faith in Christ, for all of you were baptised into Christ and have clothed yourself with Christ. Galatians 3:26.

I ended up saying to the sister in Christ, we’re all aiming for one goal – salvation (eternal life); so, our job is to encourage and help those on the other side. Even with all our little differences God Almighty is on our side, and he wants us to encourage each other, love one another in Christ, and correct each other by using the scriptures.

As you’re aware, the world is full of confusion, misleading information in every corner, before you know it, you get caught up in it. Evolution is one example, if we didn’t have the bible, we’ll all be confused, and none of us would have made it.

As I said reader, I have to say it as it is! The truth is in his word – the Bible!

As you’re aware, we all crave to love and be loved. The more we love the happier we become. I’m sure at this point you’re thinking okay…I understand that, but tell me more…!

Father God has put a lot of love in us so that we can function properly. The love is in our hearts, and we need to ignite it in order for it to flow. No human being will ever love as Jesus did. His love for people was on a perfect scale.

Most of us have experienced falling in love; we know what love is. We know that love draws us to another human being; it draws us to employ someone, to look after someone, to love our pets, to beautiful gardens, to food, to do so many good things, and it helps us to be good, etc.

So, the question God has put in my mind; how do you show your love?  Again, the question is designed to examine ourselves in regard to God the Father, Jesus and other people. When you reason well, you understand more!

The biggest love of all is the love of God and Jesus; when we love God our Father, we have Jesus the same way. Love is spiritual. When a true Christian goes to church to worship God, it is an expression of love for God and Jesus. When a person obeys God, they have to obey Jesus as well, which is an expression of love. As you’re aware, we are made in God’s image. God has shown us something about love, for example, when someone loves you, they normally show it by actions. I know I mentioned this before, but here I’m elaborating a bit more. When you love Jesus, you have to show it through actions. Jesus indicated, we should love him more than our own family or more than anything that belongs to us in order for us to grow in faith the way God wants us to’. (Luke 14:25-34)

I can understand what Jesus says, because when you deal with imperfect human beings, you’ll always get a disappointment. Sometimes, our family members can be the most difficult ones to deal with. When you look at David’s family, for example, we learn from the bible, that there was so much chaos; his son Absalom turned against him. (2 Samuel 17) When you look at Saul, (the king of Israel at the time) he turned against his own son Jonathan. (1 Samuel)

And when Jesus says, ‘love me more than your family.’  He means, ‘I’m more important to you than your family; even though God wants us to love our families ( love your neighbour as yourself), but sometimes, family members or freinds can be discouraging when a person becomes born again in Jesus. He also says, love him more than you love yourself. The desire to please God is more important than our own desires, meaning instead of gratifying our sinful desires, we should think about righteousness.

So, Jesus says, ‘I have come that you may have life, and have it to the full.’ (John 10:10. NIV) He means, when we obey him, we’ll enjoy life much more, and we’ll be fulfilled.  The problem is the fulfilment we get from friends, families, material world, etc. is not enough. When everybody is got their own issues to deal with, it is difficult to lean on a human being. No human is strong enough to carry their own problems and the problems of others. That’s why we need a bigger fulfilment which can only be found in God, through Jesus. We need his help in all our problems. God Almighty can handle all the problems of the world. Thus, when we show him that we love him, He smiles and delivers us.

And when we celebrate Jesus in the right way, to understand that he came to save us, he smiles – meaning, it pleases Father God, our creator. (Matt. 1:21) Jesus said, ‘For God so loved the world (people) that the gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world. But to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned but whoever does not believe him stands condemned already because he or she does not believe in the name of God’s one and only Son’. (John 3:16-18 NIV) We learn from here that believing every word Jesus says and act upon it, is the key to our salvation.

Merry Christmas!

One of life’s lessons is to understand the rule of multiplication; God Almighty created mathematics, he taught us how to count; the main rules of mathematics, as you know, is to increase and decrease.

I’m going to focus on multiplication or adding up; Jesus told a parable of the talents; (Luke 19:11-26)  a man of noble birth went to a distant country to have himself appointed king (Jesus) and then to return.  So, he called ten of his servants and gave them ten minas. ‘Put this money to work’, he said, until I come back.

But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him to say, we don’t want this man to be our king. (many reject his teachings)

He was made king (God made him King of all), however, and returned home. Then he sent for the servants to whom he had given the money, in order to find out what they had gained with it.

The first one came and said, sir your mina has earned ten more. (he increased in faith a lot)

Well done, my good servant!’ his master replied. Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter, take charge of ten cities.

The second came and said, sir, your mina has earned five more. (he also increased in faith) His master answered, you take care five cities.

Then another servant came ad said, ‘sir here is mina, I have kept it laid away in a piece of cloth. I was afraid of you, because you are a hard man. You take out what you did not put in and reap what you did not sow’. (he had very little faith, refused to increase it, had a bad attitude)

Then he said to those standing by, ‘take his mina away from him give it to the one who has ten minas’.

Sir, they said, ‘he already has ten’.

He replied, ‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even the little he has will be taken away’.

As human beings we must understand God’s way of doing things; as you know, we start as a small seed, then little by little we increase. It is God’s plan that we increase in faith, in knowledge (bible), in understanding, in positivity, in aspirations, in skills, in kindness, in righteousness, in love, in forgiveness, in compassion, in joy, in power, in perseverance, in giving, etc.

We have to build all those things mentioned above layer by layer in faith.

Jesus said, ‘I have come, so that you may have life to the full’. When you become a child of God, your purpose in life is to increase in faith and righteousness even in old age, and salvation is a final success.

The secret to happiness is to build layers of righteousness. Jesus gave us another tip of happiness he said, ‘don’t worry about life’, because worrying has a way of decreasing a person’s faith. Having experienced it, believe me, I know what I’m talking about.

I’ve learnt over the years to use my faith in every situation, and I realise when I do that, God delivers me from fear, and gives me joy.

This is the issue which many people are not aware of, when you landed on planet earth, God planted a seed of faith in you. A seed of faith means every human can believe in God. that’s why Jesus emphasised on believing first, then actions. Jesus said, it is like a mustard seed. It is very tiny, (I’ve never seen one, but some people have) but when it grows it become a huge tree. (Luke 13:18-19) There you are readers, it is all about multiplying your faith.

Living forever is an inner desire for most of mankind. If we lived in a perfect world, where there’re no problems, and there’s total happiness, no human being would say I don’t want to live forever.

When I was a child, I used to read stories; most of the stories had a happy ending; they married and lived forever happily. And I thought, ‘wow’.

Nowadays, living happily forever seems like a fantasy to some people.  But let me tell you what Jesus said, which I think is gonna blow your mind.  He said, I’m the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me will live, even though he dies; whoever lives and believes in me will never die. John 11:25-26.  When you examine the scripture, you realise that he combines, believing and living. He teaches us, believing alone is not enough, you have to live your life in his teachings.

So, if you have another religion, or non-believer, that’ll get you to do some thinking.  In the end, you end up thinking what chance have I got here?  Other religions have a different message, which totally contradicts the Bible.  As mentioned in Bible, Jesus said, he is the only truth, the way and the life; and that means the Bible is the only reliable source of information we can rely on.  It wasn’t written by one person, it was written by many witnesses – true prophets and disciples of Jesus.  And if you understand how God Almighty operates, he had to use many prophets to convey the same message about Jesus.

The scripture says, ‘above all, you must understand that no prophesy of scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation.  For prophesy never had it origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. (2 Peter 20-21) We learn from the Bible, that anyone who preaches a message contrary to the bible is a false preacher.

We also learn that God speaks through the Bible; he opens our minds to understand the scriptures.

So, the question is, how is God going to do it?  Firstly, we have to look at Jesus.  He said, he is the resurrection; we must understand why Jesus came; most of us know that he came to save the world; not only to save, but to teach us. He told us exactly what God said.

What happened to Jesus, is going to happen to us.  He came and died; afterward he was raised again. The scripture says, for as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive’. I cor. 15:22.  He also tell us what’s going to happen. (John 5:28 -30)  When you examine Jesus’ life, he was perfect in a human form; totally godly and holy; that’s why he didn’t sin. He did a lot of miracles, which only God Almighty can do.  After the resurrection Jesus did even more wonders; for example, he got into the disciple’s house, even though the door was totally locked. (John 20: 19-20) And then afterwards, he was taken up in the sky, and went back in heaven. (Acts 1:7-11).

We also learn from his teachings, that at the resurrection God’s people will be like angels. (Luke 20: 34-36).

We know that angels behave miraculously; at one time, the Apostles were in prison, the angel got into the prison to rescue them, even though the doors were locked. (Acts 5:19-24) The angels are invisible, but God can transform them to be visible. We see it in the Old testament, when God opened the eyes of the donkey to see an angel, but Balaam on the other hand, did not see it. (Numbers 22:21 -35) Some angels appeared in a human form; (Genesis 19: 1-2) Angels are operating in the world, but we can’t see them.

When you become a child of God, you become a very special person; children of God will enjoy the new earth and the new heaven. Many of us have decided to turn to God through Jesus; the biggest and the best decision of our lives. God has opened our minds to understand that Salvation in Jesus is more important than anything else in the world. And God Almighty will bless us abundantly. As I mentioned before dear readers, the truth has to be told.

It is in our human nature to desire access to power, for we all want to manage situations in our lives.  As you know, when we have problems, we feel weak.

It is God’s plan that we all go through tough times.  And the reason for this, when we are weak we find ourselves seeking solutions. Many of us turn to a person who has a solution to our problem.  When we go to the doctor, they’ll try their best, but it is only a temporary solution.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

When you go to the bank manager, they’ll try to lend you money, but then their intention is to get more out of you.  When you go to councillor, they’ll try to give you a bit of advice, but they can’t fight your battles; you have to fight the battles yourself.  I’ll never forget a councillor who said, ‘I’ll tell you the truth, money doesn’t bring happiness; I can’t tell you how many millionaires, who have come to me, crying their eyes out, for they feel like they can’t manage life’.  But many of us have felt helpless in some situations, if you haven’t experienced it, don’t worry, you’ll get it later.

TV brings a lot of situations in our homes, when we see the chaos in other parts of the world.  Sometimes our homes can be safe-haven when we get it right. We do it right, when we decide to do the right thing to get a job, pay the bills, keep away from trouble, look after our families, cook meals, etc.

Let me tell you, as mentioned before, when Jesus said, all authority is been given to me, he goes on to say, I have given them (believers) glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one. I in them and you in me’. John 17:22

When a person follows Jesus and obeys him, they gain power, which is assimilated to the holy spirit. God uses the Holy Spirit to mould a person to be the best they can be.  The Holy Spirit energises the person; thus, they have peace in their hearts.  When they pray God listens to them. He also uses angels to serve those who will inherit salvation. Heb. 1:14

I remember life before I was born again (true Christian), I know, I mentioned this before, but I don’t mind sharing it again; I thought I was one of the unhappiest people on planet earth. I was very depressed and miserable, little did I know that God had an amazing plan for my life; now I’m one of the happiest. I have to say, I have regained the joy, I had as a child.

When we obey Jesus, God blesses us in an amazing way; he transforms us to be powerful on the inside, that’s when we end up enjoying life even more; even when we face problems, He energises us, and when the problem is too strong for us he takes it away.

Here is the truth, when day light comes we get energised, and more active, but when night comes, our power is reduced, less active – a time to sleep. This is synonymous with our spiritual state of mind. God/Jesus empowers us, while Satan weakens us.

God has given true Christians hope and power, and it makes them happy that they’re going to participate in the great jubilation of living forever. How is God going to do it?   It is a good question; but the answer is in the Bible, which will be in the next topic.

We live in a world where connection to something is crucial.  Many of us want to be connected to something of real significance; many of us think if only I get connected to that person, I can get on a ladder;   when we get connected to certain countries, and good family networks,  we feel better or safer.

Jesus Christ is the most powerful person who has ever lived on earth. He said, all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. God the Father was happy to give him everything that belongs to him, including his Kingdom. That’s why he wants mankind to connect to Jesus. The scr. says, he is the tree and those who follow him with a sincere heart, are the branches.  John 15. Jesus says, I’m the vine you’re the branches. If a person remains in me and I’m in them, they’ll bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. For without Jesus, there is no forgiveness or salvation.

It doesn’t matter who you’re, whether a prophet or a religious leader. God’s plan will stand forever – Jesus is the only plan of salvation.

God Almighty has divided existence of the world in two time zones before the end. The first phase (the Old Testament) before Jesus…and the second phase (after Jesus). Jesus said, things will get worse. (Matt. 24)

The bible says, he’ll wipe out everything and then there will be a new heaven and the new earth. (1 Peter 3) I can understand that because, as you can see the world is full of chaos and getting worse.

Going back to the first question, which is significantly important in terms of our survival. God Almighty has given us only one reliable source of information, which reveals his thoughts – the Holy Bible. The creator of the universe wants us to connect to Yesuah (Jesus). If you want to have access to God Almighty, you have to be in the right position. There is a barrier between us and God, which is created by our sins. If you want to be approved by God Almighty, you must connect to Jesus.

How do you connect? There are things we must do;

  • To believe in everything he says.
  • You must be born again. John 3 (it is a total spiritual transformation; your mind is renewed)
  • We must get baptised – it is like signing a contract between you and God/Jesus in other words you get united with him  (Your whole body has to be immersed in water) Colosians 2:12
  • We must read the bible. God wants us to know what happened in the past (the old testament), he wants us to live life according to the new testament, so every time we read the bible and do what it says we connect.
  • And we must repent of our sins

I love evangelism, which I’m doing here as a way of serving God our Father and Jesus our Saviour. I also love talking to people. On the street I speak to all kinds of people from different religious backgrounds. When I speak to the Muslims about Jesus, some respond, some don’t. I realise that, God wants us to explain to them, so that they can also be saved. And those who respond to the message of Jesus will be saved.

The problem a lot of people have is lack of knowledge and understanding. It also shows in the Christian environment; that’s why there are unnecessary divisions, which Jesus mentioned. God who created us knows that we are limited in so many ways, for example, our understanding of things is limited; He and Jesus have perfect understand but we don’t. Both have perfect intelligence which we lack; we forget easily but they don’t; we panic when the pressure is on, but they don’t.

When I spoke to a guy who shared his story, he stated – he suffered from depression; he even tried to stab someone and ended up in a mental hospital. He then said, ‘when he heard the message of Christ, he looked deep into his life, and had a transformation’. There’s no human being who hasn’t been messed up by sin.  Jesus came to fix us.  That’s why he says, therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the stream rose, and the winds blew, and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had  its  foundation on the rock.  (Matt. 7:24-27) So, there you’ re; it is very clear! In life, we need a strong foundation in order to survive; Jesus is the strongest foundation we can have, even when problems or  temptations come our way, we hold on to him and his teachings.

Sadly, many are not connected to Jesus; there are those who go to church meetings but are not connected.  Many of them are in Catholic churches, protestant churches, etc.  A good heart is required to connect; where by a person listens carefully to what Jesus says, and then acts upon the word of God. So, as you read all the questions in here you’ll get to understand that they’re all connected to the Bible. They’re designed to examine ourselves.

God has laid out signs in the world for us to learn from; one of them is a mountain. Jesus said, ‘Have Faith in God. I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, go throw yourself into the sea, and does not doubt it’ll be done for him. Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And if you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that you Father in heaven may forgive your sins. Mark 11:22-25

Now what is a mountain? I’ve been struggling to understand this scripture over the years, but by God’s grace now I do.   This is how the holy spirit has helped to interpret this. We all know, a mountain is normally built by layers of soil, rocks, and stones. When we look at it we are overwhelmed by the sheer size of it. Take Everest for example, it is scary!  Some people try to climb, but with so much pain. That means handling a mountain brings pain. But for many of us we decide to be observers by keeping a distance. We do this because we fear the consequences. So, that means we use God given wisdom that there is no need to climb a mountain.

Okay; let’s go back to the question; what mountain is Jesus talking about? Many of us are busy building mountains in our lives. How do we do it?  By sinning.  As you know, it begins with a thought and it goes to actions. The more we think about it, the more we build it up, and the more we act upon it, the bigger it becomes. Building normally starts at young age.  We all know teenagerhood is when we break away from the rules, before that our state of mind has a good sense of innocence.

So, building a mountain takes a day or years, which means when we involve ourselves in any kind of sin and it becomes a habit, we are on Mt. Everest – dangerous grounds and the consequence are inevitable.  We live in chaotic world, where hatred has become a mountain for some people.  And when that happens the turmoil descends on those people who embrace those kind of attitudes, e.g. wars, fear, etc.

A wrong religion is also a huge mountain; when Jesus said, he is the only truth we can rely on, he knew the consequences of false preaching are catastrophic.  Evolution theory is a scary mountain, and many are building on it.  Lack of faith is another scary mountain; guess what, there is no hope with this kind of attitude.  And when the love of money consumes your life more than anything else, you are on mount Everest.  Money issues have created a lot of mountains, e.g. envy, wrong desires, debt issues, depression, etc. that’s why Jesus said, the love of money is the root of all evil.

The internet, drug addictions, binge drinking, etc.  have created negative influences which are ready to erupt. God Almighty has given us life; we have a responsibility for our lives.  How you look after your body is your responsibility, and if you want to enjoy life, build well.  Jesus advises us how to become excellent builders.  When God gave Noah the instructions to build the ark, he was thinking about Jesus.  So, that means, when you build your life according to Jesus’s teachings you’re sorted.

I read a scripture in the old testament, which explains our sins as a mountain. (I can’t remember where, but I’ll look it up).  So, that’s why Jesus says, a mountain in our lives can be removed by faith, which also means we can use Biblical scriptures to remove any hindrances in our lives.  A hindrance is a sin that stops a person from prospering the way God wants them to be.  A sin stops us from enjoying a peaceful life.  A sin is like a volcano waiting to erupt. That’s why God wants us to examine our lives and make changes, and to think about the consequences.

Another way to look at the mountain is a situation which is difficult to handle.  Many of us get those, and we feel the problem is permanent, whatever we do, it is not going anywhere – immovable. But Jesus says, when you believe that God will take away problems, you become happier; but you also have to understand when he says, throw the problem in the sea.  I believe it means, a problem or difficult situation can be submerged in water – dissolved.  And that means if you can’t solve it, don’t think about it; give it to God, and focus on being a good person, then you’ll enjoy life.  And when it is submerged, God gives you strength, so that you don’t get overwhelmed by it.  I’m talking from experience.
